Gracious Treehouse

The Gracious treehouse is a classic timber abode as much as it is a daring exploration of arboreal construction. Our brief was grand but at heart quite simple - something which works with the trees. Overlooking a large pond on the edge of a woodland we had two stunning Oaks to work with, and a perfect spot for the treehouse was established where the branches of the two trees tapered away from each other. Two custom made curved staircases wind you up through the trees to the top platform. A midway treehouse platform splits the two flights of stairs, easing the climb. The main platform sits 5m above the ground. The house is divided into three parts; on the left, a living area, on the right a two-story room with a floor level and a mezzanine above. Bespoke shaped windows give views of the forest on all sides. Over 10 different species of timber were used for this treehouse and so wood is everywhere you can look, touch and even in places you can’t - eco wood fibre insulation fills the wall, floor and roof cavities. The treehouse has lighting via a battery system and heating for the colder months.
